72 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine EDUCATION Growing up in the mountains of Colorado, Dr. Kenneth Dale Beaman enjoyed the life sciences and desired to pursue a career in molecular biology. Earning a BS in microbiology from Colorado State University in 1975, an MS in biology from Cleveland State University in 1977 and a PhD from The Ohio State University in 1982, Dr. Beaman was hired by the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago in 1985 as an assistant professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology. Over the course of the past 35 years, he has since served the prestigious institution as an associate professor, full professor, acting department chair and vice department chair, director and program chair of the Clinical Laboratory Training Program, and director of clinical immunology. In his myriad roles, he has conducted research in reproductive immunology, particularly implantation failures. A diplomat of the American Board of Medical Laboratory Immunology with the American Academy of Microbiology since 1995, Dr. Beaman has also been certified as a clinical consultant by the American Board of Bioanalysis since 2010. Lending his expertise to written works as well, he has excelled as the associate editor of Clinical and Applied Immunology Reviews since 1999 and has sat on the editorial board of Clinical and Diagnostic Laboratory Immunology since 1998. A former editor-in-chief and associate editor of the American Journal of Reproductive Immunology, he has also contributed to national and international abstracts and presentations. Furthermore, Dr. Beaman is a former president of the International Society for Reproductive Immunology and American Society for Reproductive Immunology, and served the American Society for Microbiology as chairman of the clinical immunology division. To attest to his success, he received the Distinguished Service Award from the American Society for Reproductive Immunology in 2008 and was elected a fellow of the American Association of Immunologists in 1995. Prior to these feats, he was named a Clinical Scientist by the American Society for Clinical Pathology in 1989 and received National Research Service Awards from the National Institutes of Health between 1982 and 1985.
